My Heart Runneth Over: Oprah, Charlie Palmer and French Pastry

What?! 2009!? Forgot all about it, THIS is the year!

2010 has magic in it, starting with my exciting announcement... my beloved 7 year top client, Standards of Excellence Appliances with 6 gorgeous Northern California locations (ok, one is Nevada) honored our years of culinary adventures together with a fabulous full time position as the new Chef and Culinary Marketing Manager. Most marvelous... my sincerest thanks to Lisa Ono, Shawn Pauli and the whole SOE team for your support and vision!

The action began with a great trip to Hoffman Estates, out side of Chicago. Our parent company, Sears has a massive, incredible HQ there with 5500 employees. We had exciting meetings planning our interactive culinary and multi-media events, some which were inspired by our Food for Thought Cooking events that we created for SOE!

This is the Atrium, where Chef Billy, my new culinary partner are doing our March 4th Chefs Challenge for hundreds at Sears HQ! No pressure!

Back to SF on February 6th for a packed Macy's Valentine's Cooking Class and the Belvedere Hawthorne NS Kitchen Tour on February 8th and 9th. Xavier, my charming, hard working new HS intern joined me for a glamorous cocktail event where he and I presented a sumptuous "Chocolate Fondue" kept perfectly heated on a Fagor Induction burner. See him surrounded by chocolate and really gorgeous women? Oh, yeah!

The next day, we were joined by our friends from Dacor to help put on a killer Kitchen Tour. A spectacular Standards of Excellence Kitchen, Dacor appliances, views of the GG Bridge and SF and our Peking Duck and Mango in Lettuce cups for 800, I can dig it! Friends and guests swoned over the food and the setting!

Ok, can you keep up? Back to Chicago to go to Oprah with Tiffani from Sears HQ, simply the best. Guests were Lionel Ritchie and Saints QB Drew Brees, wife and famous baby boy in tow, remarkable. Oprah's chatting during the commercials was the best, funny, honest, candid...more later... thanks , Kristen for the sweet hook up!

Finally, the FENI: Food Educator's Conference at the hip and green Allegro Hotel. We enjoyed classes like "Chocolate Showpieces" at the French Pastry School, along with, of course..French pastry itself, ahhhh. We met the super influential Candy Wallace, founder of the American Personal and Private Chef Association and Celebrity Chef and Keynote speaker, Charlie Palmer! He spoke about leadership. It was all incredible. I will follow up with more Oprah, Charlie and FENI details. Here is the video that Chef Billy made at FENI: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-AXOLKHWS0

See why, this Valentine's Day " my heart runneth over", or maybe it is all because of my loving, fun and adoring friends and my husband, Rob,who always believed in me, no matter what.

And that, as they say, has made all  the difference...
