Delicious Causes to Celebrate!

I am excited to see, despite the economic downturn, the business world still understands the value of charitable involvement. I see many businesses and individuals finding ways to become more involved in giving in more meaningful ways.

Aida Mollenkamp
I have been fortunate to be involved with a charitable cause, Homeward Bound of Marin, for over 10 years. Homeward Bound of Marin's mission of "opening doors to safety, dignity, hope and independence" is coupled with a vision that "everyone deserves a place to call home." Homeward Bound is Marin County's chief provider of shelter and residential services for homeless families and individuals, serving approximately 1,400 people per year in 14 inter-related residential programs. The overarching goal is to end homelessness in Marin County. To that end, they offer supportive services designed to end homelessness in the life of every person served, whatever their circumstances. Residents have built an admirable record of success: in 2008-09, 97% of families served and 83% of adults completing our programs moved to stable housing. Incredible!

Tonight we have a SOLD OUT cooking event at Homeward Bound’s fantastic Fresh Starts Cooking School with Jeffrey Stoffer, a former chef at the legendary Chez Panisse Restaurant. I am so excited to host! This state of the art culinary center is also the site of a very successful culinary and hospitality job training program. The beautiful demonstration kitchen appliances, was provided by Standards of Excellence. Check out celebrity chef Aida Mollenkamp rocking the Wolf Cook Top!

We used the Dacor Double Convection Wall Ovens as well. This allows us to have world class chefs in to help raise money for our job training programs, a perfect example of giving!

Please join us for any of our sensational, excellently priced “cause” cooking classes at Homeward Bound, you will have a superb time, get a full meal and be giving back at the same time!

Both our Fresh Starts Cooking School events and the Spooky Treat presenters are lucky to have Chef Rachelle putting her energy to work for them!
