I was present for the NARI Sacramento event held at the Standards of Excellence showroom (the National Association of the Remodeling Industry), a vibrant group of professional contractors, designers, vendors and retailers. Our SOE SAC team hosted 80 guests to a gourmet meal topped off by a delicious dessert. The true highlight however was the people. As guests networked and snacked, we perceived a “warming trend”. Conversations were upbeat; more talk about new projects, guests shared “survival strategies” that morphed into new, smarter ways of doing business. The epitome of the evening was Dee Dee O’Moore, Regional Sales Representative for our Viking distributor, The GSC shared 30 minutes of wisdom with our guests. She truly created an honest connection with every guest, a strategy more important now than ever. Photo
Speaking of warm relationships, I am deeply bonded with this beauty, the Viking Induction Range Top.
After baking crispy, evenly browned shortcakes in the convection oven, I turned to the induction top to warm the fresh blackberry and nectarine compote. Induction cooking works by using magnetic waves to excite the molecules in the cookware to create heat. The burner and pan never get hotter than the food, so it is incredibly safe. It is so fast, efficient and responsive; it looks like a magic trick. When we boil a pot of water in seconds with a $20 bill under the pot the whole time, the money DOES NOT disappear in a puff of smoke! I love showing this cook top to people; the look of amazement never gets old. Another thing that will never get old, the flat tempered glass cleans like a dream. Thank you, Viking for all that you do!
With such incredible cooking appliances at my service, making a great dessert for 80 guests by hand as guests mingled was a cinch. Viola: Blackberry and Nectarine Shortcake with Maple Whipped Cream and Basil Gelato…to celebrate the last day of summer.
You see, my youthful vision holds true. Our event matched my perception exactly as we helped create a warm, sunny, hip and exciting event. If Mr. Bradford was still around, I know we would have been a top news story for his “Sacramento Register”!
